SOUTH AFRICA
Let’s do South Africa differently. Let’s not go where everyone goes. Let’s go to remote areas, where conservation is making extraordinary efforts to rehabilitate land and wildlife, let’s go where landscapes are stunning and so contrasting. South Africa is a country of many options and fascinating diversity. From exquisite gastronomy to vibrant cities, from beaches to whales, from great wine to fantastic art. Let us show you a different side of South Africa.
LEPALALA REGION
Lapalala Wilderness is an exceptional conservation legacy spanning 48,000 hectares of breath-taking and diverse habitat on the Capricorn tropic in the Waterberg region of Limpopo province. The Palala and Kgogong rivers flow through this extraordinary landscape for 60km, this is a place unlike any other in the world. This is a camp set on an astonishing 100ft clifftop with breathtaking views overlooking the winding Palala River. At night your sky bed experience provides for one of the most romantic settings you can imagine as you choose to either sleep outside under the stars or inside your stunning villa in unparalleled luxury. Go explore this area on food, by boat, fishing, go see bushman paintings and learn about the great conservation projects being done here.
THE GREAT KAROO
This a conservation journey on 67,000 acres of born-again wilderness in South Africa’s heart-stoppingly beautiful Great Karoo region. Founded in 1997, this property has pioneered the rewilding of this semi-arid yet uniquely biodiverse landscape, catalysing an ambitious vision to expand the conservation estate to a 3-million-acre footprint in a Global Biodiversity Hotspot. Today the reserve is one of South Africa’s most diverse safari destinations, comprising five vegetation biomes across strikingly varied topography, home to over 60 mammal species including the Big Five and cheetah, as well as 225 bird species. Go on conservation walks, plant a tree, learn about rewilding land, see incredible and dramatic landscapes and track animals on foot, like cheetah and rhino.
THE RED KALAHARI
This is the largest private reserve in South Africa, covering 1200 square kilometres (over 460 square miles). Located on the edge of the southern Kalahari, this vast and remote reserve is a destination in itself, offering the only safari of its kind in an ecologically significant and unique landscape rich in biodiversity. Our luxury safari camps provide the backdrop to privately guided encounters with diverse wildlife in one of Africa’s last remaining semi-arid wildernesses. This is a story of restoration, regeneration and hope. Protecting biodiversity and securing habitat for wildlife to thrive has been at the core of this ambitious conservation project for over 25 years. The mission has always been to restore the Kalahari to itself. Every night a guest spends here helps to offset the cost of conservation in a privately protected area while positively impacting those who call the Kalahari home.
